Tyler Wittmer
Elder, Lead Pastor
Tyler came to know the grace of God when he was 16 after hearing the gospel preached from the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15). Since then, Tyler has grown in his understanding of the depth and richness of God’s grace and mercy. After graduating from Western Kentucky University in 2013, he attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. As the lead pastor at Center Point Church, Tyler has found joy in shepherding the people through teachings from God’s Word, intentional discipleship and mentorship, and meeting with and praying for his Center Point family. Tyler is married to Alicia, an elementary school assistant principal. Together they have a daughter, Ellie, who is with the Lord, and two boys, Roman and Hunter. If you don’t meet their family at church, there is a good chance you’ll find them at the Taylor Mill Swim Club!
Aaron Barnett
Elder, Associate Pastor
Aaron grew up in a Christian household, but it wasn’t until a good friend and role model shared the gospel with him when he was 18 that he came to personally know Christ. Since becoming a believer, Aaron no longer seeks to earn God’s favor but instead lives in light of what God has done for him. He has served in vocational ministry for nearly a decade, and in his current role at Center Point, Aaron shepherds the entire church, specifically through discipling and directing leaders and volunteers. Aaron is married to Eliza, and together they have three daughters, Rebecca, Katie, and Abby, and a son, Ben.
Bill Sherrard
Elder, Associate Pastor
Bill came to know Christ when he was ten, although it wasn’t until April 10, 1983, that the Lord revealed to him the need to make Jesus the Lord of his life. Since then, his faith in Jesus and daily walk with Him has grown stronger through a love God has given him for His Word. At Center Point, Bill serves as an associate pastor and elder. His role includes discipling and mentoring men, meeting with and praying over people, leading a community group alongside his wife, and more. Bill is married to Teresa, and they have a daughter and two sons, three in-laws/adopted children, and three grandchildren.
Eric Hogarth
Elder
Eric became a follower of Christ when he was 16 after hearing the gospel clearly presented at church. He has learned the importance of putting Christ first in all things through the discipline of the Word and the guidance of other believers. He attended Moody Bible Institute for two years to study missions. Eric leads a men’s discipleship group in addition to the technology/media team at Center Point. Eric is married to Cynthia, and they have three children, all of whom are married and serve the Lord. They are also grandparents to their two grandsons, Sammy and Kai.
LJ Todd
Elder
LJ has been walking with Christ since he was six, having come to faith after his pastor shared the gospel with him. Since becoming a believer, God has grown his faith and love for Him and His Word. Following his graduation from Eastern Kentucky University, LJ took a few classes at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has led various Bible studies over the years, including with college students. He leads a life group in addition to occasionally preaching at Center Point. LJ is married to Lindsey, and they have two daughters, Chloe and Riley, and a son, Owen.
Darren Varnado
Elder
Darren became a believer when he was eight through the guidance of his mother and later came to understand the importance of having a relationship with Christ during a summer church camp. Throughout his life, the church has been a constant and being engaged in community groups has continued to encourage growth in his relationship with God. As an elder at Center Point, being challenged by his fellow elders has been a blessing to him. In addition to his role as an elder, Darren serves on the worship team and participates in a men’s discipleship group. Darren is married to his better half, Jennifer, who is an interior designer. They have a daughter, Kay, who is married to Max, and a son, Quinn, who is getting married in 2024 to his fiancée , Kayleigh.
Tim Wright
Elder
Tim came to know Christ at a summer church camp when he was 16. Since being saved, the Lord has transformed him through personal Bible study and prayer to see the need for His grace beyond just salvation but also everyday life. He serves as a leader of a community group at Center Point and enjoys the opportunities to disciple, mentor, and counsel the church body. Tim is married to Lori, and they have loved having the opportunity to serve the Lord together in a local church by encouraging and exhorting people to continue their journey of faith for over 30 years. Tim and Lori have two daughters, Kayla and Jenna, both of whom are married. They also have a grandson.
Sydney Gohs
Director of Family Life
Sydney surrendered her life to Christ at 17 while at a YoungLife Camp. Since then, she has learned how constant and steadfast the Lord is and that the peace He gives is unlike anything this world can offer. Prior to becoming the Director of Family Life at Center Point, Sydney served as a YoungLife leader for nine years alongside her husband. Sydney's role at Center Point includes serving parents and their children through the overseeing of the Family Ministries. She works with kids and volunteers to create an environment that helps teach young kids the love of Christ through curriculum and activities while building community with and for their parents. Sydney is married to Cody, and they have two sons, Deacon and Killian, and a daughter, Lainey.
Nicholas Fain
Church Planter Apprentice
Nick was born into a pastor’s family and while reading the story of the rich young ruler (Mark 10), Nick saw that everything, including salvation, was impossible without Christ. The gospel seeds were planted in his life and began to bear fruit. Since then, the Lord has changed his desires and opened his eyes to Christ being the greatest treasure. Nick has an associate’s degree in theology and is currently pursuing his bachelor's/master's through Boyce College and The Southern Baptist Seminary. Nick volunteers with the worship team and leads a small group with his wife. He is currently being trained to plant a church through Center Point. Nick is married to his best friend, Erika, whom he met while they were on a year-long mission trip. Together they have a son, Rueben.
Mariah Southers
Worship Apprentice
Mariah grew up going to church, though it wasn't until the Lord placed Christ-following friends in her life during her middle and high school years that she came to understand that her sin wasn’t something to clean up, and she needed Christ in every part of her life. The Lord has been so kind in continuously revealing His character to her. Every day she continues to try to seek the Lord in all she does. Mariah graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2018. She led worship at her church in Bowling Green and is now a Worship Apprentice at Center Point where she loves to be a part of what the Lord does each week. In addition to leading worship, Mariah leads a community group and participates in a discipleship group.
Sam Rose
Worship Apprentice
Sam committed his life to Christ when he was 7, but experienced his "Lordship moment" at 17 when he heard the message of Philippians 3 during a YoungLife summer camp. Since then, he can confidently say he’s had his full faith in Christ. Following high school, Sam moved from Louisville to attend Northern Kentucky University (2016-2020). He spent the next five years as a YoungLife leader at a local high school. As a Worship Apprentice at Center Point, Sam helps plan and lead Sunday worship in addition to other worship opportunities as they come up. Sam is married to his wonderful wife, Maddie.
Tareza Bosma
Administrative Assistant
Tareza attended church her entire childhood, but it was during a Summer Project through the college ministry, Campus Outreach, that she came to understand that there was more than just believing in God but also being in relationship with Him. Since then, the Lord has repeatedly shown Tareza how perfectly He knows and cares for her. Tareza has been an attendee at Center Point since 2020 and a member since the church went autonomous in 2021. In her role as administrative assistant, she ensures the needs of each attendee are met, manages volunteers, plans events, and more. Tareza is married to Andrew, and together they have a daughter, Emma.
